Yoga Philosophy for Yoga Teachers: Level II
April 15 – May 12
- « Big Sky Retreat: Awakening Creativity through Yantra Painting, Yoga & Meditation
- Silence & Simplicity Retreat »
Are you a yoga teacher that would like to build upon your current understanding of yogic philosophy? Are you ready to take your practice and your teaching to the next level? Join us for Yoga Philosophy for Yoga Teachers and explore the wisdom teachings of this time-honored path through an avenue applicable to today’s world.
This course was inspired in response to requests from current students, practitioners and yoga teachers coming from different paths and backgrounds to the ShivaShakti School of Yoga. As interest in yoga continues to increase, the level of awareness around the deeper significations of yogic philosophy and yogic practices begin to rise in the hearts and minds of those sincere seekers.
In the second level of the Yoga Philosophy for Yoga Teachers course you will explore the synthesis of yoga as envisioned by Swami Sivananda. In this vision the four classical yogas, Raja, Karma, Bhakti and Jnana yoga, are joined and integrated into a system that is adapted for the practitioner of today. Throughout this course you learn tools and technologies for working with the body, prana and mind. Through sincere effort you will be able to make changes if you deem necessary in the course of your life to actualize and realize your own Highest Self. Beginning where part I concluded, part II of this 15 hour course covers:
- Gods and Goddess of the Puranas
- Japa Mala- Repetition of Mantra
- Bhakti Yoga- the Yoga of the Heart
- Ashrama Dharma- the Four stages of Life
- Karma Yoga- the Yoga of Selfless Service
- The Four Types of Karma- Understanding Karma
- Energy Anatomy- The Chakra System

- Jnana Yoga: The Yoga of Knowledge
The course includes 2-3 recorded talks per week, approximately 3 hours total, for four weeks. There are also short homework assignments each week and an opportunity to connect with other course participants on an online forum. The instructor is available throughout the course to answer questions online and offers two recorded Q&A sessions in response to participants questions during the course.
