Each training day begins with a children’s yoga class including asana, pranayama, and meditation with the instructors, which all participants join in along with some children. Then participants will learn about child development from an anatomical viewpoint. Afternoons will be spent exploring the specific yoga practices, games, and stories that are recommended for each age group, as well as lesson planning and class design. Students then practice teaching the techniques learned that day with a partner. The course also weaves in yogic philosophy demonstrating how these time-tested teachings are still applicable to the youth of today’s world. Some time is devoted to teaching yoga in schools. Each day includes a 1-hour lunch break.
